With the additional apprenticeships which are on offer in the training year starting in 2013, young people can take the first step of their working lives in a total of seven different careers at Germany’s second largest airline. For the first time, in the coming year airberlin is offering apprenticeships for management assistants in dialogue marketing and marketing communications, IT specialists and mathematical and technical software developers. The airberlin group has a workforce of more than 9,300 employees worldwide. Every year new employees join the group, coming mainly from among the company’s own apprentices.
“Every year a large number of young people start their careers at airberlin. We offer an excellent standard of training and we have even won awards for our apprenticeships from the German Chambers of Industry and Commerce. This is a great asset for the company, since airberlin offers jobs to all of its trainees,” explains Chief Human Resources Officer, Dr. Martina Niemann.
airberlin is currently training 132 young recruits; of these 51 are taking commercial apprenticeships and 81 are apprentices in the field of aircraft engineering. As well as the new training opportunities, airberlin is also offering its established apprenticeships in the commercial areas of office communication, aviation and tourism management
