Air Berlin PLC & Co Luftverkehr KG (in insolvency) (airberlin) is committed to protecting your privacy. These data protection principles were developed by airberlin to give you, the customer, an overview of how personal data is collected, stored, processed, passed on and transmitted by us when you visit/have visited our pages or use/have used our services.


We collect personal data from you when you visit our pages or use our services. This includes the following information:

  • Registration and use information: When you register to use our services by creating an account, we collect personal data necessary to provide the services you have requested. If necessary, we ask you to provide us with further personal data when you use our services

This data is used by airberlin to operate the websites, to maintain quality and to compile general statistics on the use of the airberlin websites.

airberlin does not collect or use sensitive personal information such as religion, race and political affiliation.

Data collected on an airberlin website or an airberlin service may be shared within airberlin, its subsidiaries and affiliates.

airberlin recommends that you read the data protection guarantees of websites that you can access via links from airberlin so that you understand how those websites collect, use and pass on your data. airberlin shall not be responsible for contents and data protection guarantees of websites outside the airberlin websites.


We keep personal data in an identifiable format for the minimum period required by law or regulation or necessary for our business purposes. We store personal data for longer periods of time than legally required if this is in our legitimate business interest and not prohibited by law.

When your account is closed, we may take steps to mask personal data and other information, but we reserve the right to retain and access the information for as long as required by applicable law.


airberlin and its service partners collect your personal data and use it to operate the airberlin websites and to provide the services you have requested.

airberlin may pass on personal data to other service providers who perform services and functions based on our instructions and on our behalf. For example, these service providers provide you with services, verify your identity, support us in processing transactions, send you advertising for our products and services or offer you customer support.

airberlin does not sell, rent or lease its customer lists to third parties. airberlin may contact you on behalf of your external business partners (e.g. credit card companies) to process your inquiries.   • to investigate violations of user agreements or other legal provisions applicable to our services or to enforce these legal instruments;
  • to protect our assets, services and rights.

In addition, airberlin may share aggregated statistical data with third parties such as other companies and the public. This information does not personally identify you and does not include any information about your use of the websites or services. We will not pass on your personal data to third parties for their marketing activities without your consent.


Some of our Internet pages use so-called cookies. These are used to make our website more user-friendly, efficient and secure. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser. Most of the cookies we use are "session cookies". These are automatically deleted at the end of your visit.
